About My Studio
Maxine is fortunate to be based on the wild North Atlantic coastline in ‘Rose’ Perranporth, Cornwall – a landscape that has inspired her from a young age with its beautiful beaches, lanes and villages. Get Creative
As a former Head of Art with years of teaching experience behind her, Maxine was Cornwall’s first Advanced Skills Teacher (AST), awarded by Westminster Department for Education supporting the visual arts both in education and the community as a promoter of the arts in Cornwall. If you’ve ever felt inspired to draw, paint or sketch Maxine runs periodic classes that are both educational & fun.

Collective Collaboration
I am part of ‘The 5 Collective’ of like-minded artists and educators who have worked together for 25 years in secondary education. As a group we have always remained practising artists, sharing our skills with each other. In 2018 we decided to formalise this partnership as ‘The 5 Collective’ exhibiting in and around Cornwall. The 5 consists of four permanent artists who invite a fifth guest artist to contribute to exhibitions.
